Our facilities and trains can be used for your special event such as school parties, birthday parties, corporate picnics or other special events where you would enjoy the lore of trains.
Our members are happy to volunteer their time to provide trains rides for these events, but we do require you to pay for facility and equipment usage.
We provide the train, the personnel, and picnic tables under a covered area, and rest rooms.
Decorations, food, and other party supplies are not provided by SVLSRM.
Parties are reserved for 2 hours.  Using the diesel locomotive cost $250; using steam locomotive cost $400.  If more than 50 people it is recommended to reserve an extra train for $100 or an extra hour for $75.  We provide the train, the personnel, the covered picnic area and restrooms.

The party group can setup a half-hour before the party for decorations, food, drinks and you are asked to clean up afterwards.  Usually the last train is a good time to clean up. 
Train rides are 10-15 minutes.  Parties  can expect about 4 rides with time in between  for games, cakes, etc.
Refunds are given for bad weather or a request for cancelation at least 24 hours before event. Contact the park district (April to September) before Thursday of the party to prepay for your guest parking.  They charge $3 a car instead of  $5 at the gate.  Call park district at 916-369-9844 or rentals@crpd.org. They take credit cards.
